Mrs. Sunanda Soni is the Director of our Institute. She has done her M.Sc. in Zoology with a specialization in Parasitology. This gives her an added boost in teaching the subject of Hygiene and Nutrition, which is an integral part of the Food Production Department. Apart from this she has successfully completed, with honors, certificate courses from the Educational Institute of American Hotel and Lodging Association in Cookery, Training and Development as well as Food & Beverage Service. Mrs. Soni also teaches students in the disciplines of Communications Skills and Front Office, apart from guiding students in areas such as grooming, etiquette and professionalism. Mr. Ram Kumar Singh A person with thorough knowledge, experience and management skills, Mr. Singh brings a Manager’s approach to teaching students. With a total of 12 years working experience in the industry, with his last position held being that of an Assistant General Manager in one of the most reputed hotels in the city, he brings to the students an insider’s look as to what the industry expects from its future managers. Guiding students in administrative and managerial aspects, he teaches management related courses, imparting students not only with the theoretical aspects, but with a strong practical base with which to step into the industry. Mr. Ulhas Chaudhary With a flair in, and a passion for mixology, Mr. Chaudhary is the man behind our short term Bartending and Bar & Beverage Management course, where students amass not just the vast theoretical knowledge required to run an efficient bar, but also the practical aspects, learning the art of mixology, which is essentially the mixing and presentation of various mocktails and cocktails. A B.Sc. with distinction in Hotel & Tourism Management, he was the topper in his batch. However, his true love is behind the bar. Having done a Wine and Spirits course from Wine and Spirits Education Trust, London, U.K., and Bar and Bar Skills, Maldives, and years of experience as a bartender in Maldives as well as an international luxurious cruise liner, he enjoys teaching courses in Beverage Service and International Cookery, as well as sharing his experiences of working in an International environment. Mr.Tushar Achalkar Mr. Achalkar comes to the Institute with 10 years of industry experience in the Food & Beverage Service department. Being a service-oriented industry, Hospitality students require to be adept in not just service aspects, but also in handling large crowds as well as last minute emergencies. With specialized experience in Banqueting Management, Mr. Achalkar is able to guide students in being ready for everything, and how to handle it all with grace and efficiency. Mr. Atul Verma Having worked with various hotels and international cruise liners in the Food Production department, Mr. Verma brings with him vast experience and excellent culinary skills. But most importantly, he enjoys working in the kitchen, and considers it his duty to pass on this same passion to his students. From indenting and purchasing, to the final step of food presentation, his students learn all aspects of food preparation, his practical classes are popular amongst students, as they not only get to prepare new dishes from various countries, but taste what they have prepared as well, which imbibes them with a better understanding of flavours and various cultures as well. Mr.Sangram Tamhane An ex-student from Amro’s 2005 batch, he went on to work for esteemed organizations such as the Taj Blue Diamond, Pune, and the Grand Hyatt, Mumbai, in their Housekeeping departments, before turning to education as his career choice, as he wanted to pass on his passion for the Hospitality Industry to future candidates. Having returned to his alma-mater, he not only teaches, but also shows what it truly means to be an ‘Amroite’. Ms. Reena Soni Armed with a B.A. degree with distinction in Psychology and Functional English, a Certificate course in French, three years working experience as a freelance writer with a reputed Nashik newspaper supplement, and strong communication skills, Ms. Soni is not only the French instructor at Amro, but also an in-house counsellor and friend to our students. She guides students who are having trouble with their studies, language coping problems, and even those who just need to talk to someone. Besides these faculty members Amro has tied up with various faculties of repute who come in regularly on part time basis to share their experiences for related subjects like Hotel Law, Hotel Maintenance etc. |
